but good luck on your wiper system regardless of this info! Rregardless if you decide to upgrade or not, for reference, this is what is on my firewall on my truck(1996) Does yours have a pattern that matches the mounting holes or at least appear to? I would say it probably can be easily done if so. The new motor's internal breaker means it doesn't draw any more current than before, so the increase to a 30A fuse (which won't blow until more than 33A flows) doesn't make sense. The conversion kit does NOT address this change, so trucks with the kit will have an 8.25A CB in the fuse box and an 8.25A CB in the new motor. In '95, it was changed to a 30A fuse (though the circuit is identical with no additional loads), and the revised single-connector motor has an internal 8.25A breaker. Note from a steve83 write up: Note that pre-'94 trucks use an 8.25A circuit breaker in the fuse box for all wiper functions. Not sure if you can even find these part numbers at all anymore, but to my knowledge its a matter of a wiring change (connector) and a newer motor and physical mounting. Seven (7) 5/16" (8 mm) Heat Shrink Tubing - 2" (51 mm) long Use the Wiper Motor Wiring Kit (-14A411-) to complete the installation. Refer to appropriate Service Manual for installation details. If so, the latest level of wiring is already installed and the Wiper Motor Wiring Kit (-14A411-) is not required. Inspect the vehicle to see if the new Wiper Motor (-17508-) is already installed. Follow the detailed instructions included in the service kit. Refer to the Application Chart listed in this article for the proper application. Replace the wiper motor with a revised wiper motor and use a Windshield Wiper Motor Service Kit to complete the installation. This TSB is being republished in its entirety to include F-150-350 Series, Bronco, F-Super Duty and F/B-Series, revise application chart, and to include production dates for L-Series vehicles.Ī revised service windshield wiper motor is now available if the windshield wiper motor requires replacement. WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR - UPGRADED SERVICE REPAIR KITSġ987-94 BRONCO, F SUPER DUTY, F150-350 SERIES My final piece of advice Don't do it if it can be avoided.WIPER MOTOR - REPLACEMENT - UPGRADED SERVICE KITS I hate it when the accelerator is put down and the lack of vacuum stops the wipers from moving. I wanted to have reliable wipers for the upcoming trip. We went through several deluges in route. The directions are sketchy at best and the installation of the clips is nearly impossible, at least it was for me and a friend who is also an experienced amateur mechanic and other T=bird friends. When we went to Albuquerque NM a couple of years ago. This is done above you out of sight and is not readily accessible by large hands. The circlips or e-clips as they may be called force you to install them after the motor wiping rotor is in its place.
I had to move my under dash air conditioner out of the way without disconnecting it.
Additionally I did this while the seat is out. The two speeds are slow and not quite as slow. Unless you are going to drive where you are likely to get caught in the rain for any extended period of time I would not recommend the electric conversion.
